Call For Experts
'SCAFFOLD' is funded by the Erasmus+ Youth Together programme and aims to create new roles for youth workers and young people with fewer opportunities as 'Sustainability Specialists' and 'Sustainability Champions'.
To do this, we are developing a blended learning and development programme based on a sustainability competence framework.
Core areas are likely to include teaching and learning pedagogy, climate and sustainability knowledge, attitude and behaviour change, and soft skills such as relationships, communication, active listening, and empathy.
We're looking for sustainability experts to form our 'Expert Panel' to make sure we are on the right track in the project.
Other areas the panel could contribute to if they have the time and the inclination could be reviewing course materials; guest speaking on webinars delivered to stakeholders; reviewing key deliverables and raising awareness of the project and its outputs.
The key areas we’d like our expert panel to contribute to are:
- Participating in a ‘lifeworld analysis’ (LWA) interview to inform our initial research (1 hour).
It’s clear that young people will need to play a pivotal role in re-shaping and re-framing the economic, societal and cultural structures that need to be transformed if Europe is to become more resilient in the face of the inevitable future pandemics to come – and in the face of broader future threats like climate change and geopolitical instability.
We need young people to apply their creativity and talent to help make these ‘socio-ecological transitions’ happen. No sustainable solutions can be delivered without the active involvement of Europe's future - young people.
But there are few mechanisms that provide opportunities for young people to actively get involved in developing sustainable futures.
There are even fewer mechanisms available to young people from 'left behind communities'.
That’s why young people with fewer opportunities and youth services need to work together in new roles to deliver sustainable change.
Why an ‘Expert Panel’? Given the breadth and depth of the challenges young people face, SCAFFOLD’s blended learning and development programme must be informed by the latest relevant research. That’s why it needs to be supported by our Expert Panel.
